for L’Objet Qui Parle, Paris

Commissioned to conceptualize and produce

a storytelling-driven marketing film

for a historic Parisian antique store.

During my study abroad in Paris, I visited  L’Objet Qui Parle, an antique shop in Montmartre, Paris, and struck up a conversation with the owner—communicating mainly through Google Translate. When he learned that I studied film and marketing, he mentioned that many film students had come to shoot in his store over the years and asked to see some of my work. After viewing my previous projects, he shared that it had always been a dream of his to have a film that truly captured both his identity and the spirit of the shop — but he hadn’t yet found someone whose vision felt right.  He felt my visual storytelling approach could finally bring his character to life. True to the name of the shop L’Objet Qui Parle (“The Object That Speaks”), our communication didn’t rely on words alone. The connection came through gestures, eye contact, and the quiet energy of the space. While the film was made to support his business, what we created together felt far more personal—rooted in mutual trust and a shared sensitivity to story. After the film was posted on instagram, the response was deeply moving: messages from longtime neighbors, small business owners, and strangers who had passed by the storefront for years, each sharing how seen and understood they felt. That response reminded me why I care so much about the process of documentation It deepened my belief that meaningful branding isn’t about reach—it’s about resonance. That the most lasting impressions don’t come from visibility, but from emotional truth with intention. And that great storytelling doesn’t start with what you show—it starts with why it matters.
